A surf retreat asks people to travel for pleasure, and that comes with an environmental cost. We won’t pretend otherwise. “Sustainable” isn’t a badge we can award ourselves; it’s an ongoing practice of understanding our impact, making better choices and being honest about the work we still have left to do.
PEOPLE
We choose welcoming, fair and human-scale experiences: small groups, local coaches and makers, a local chef, thoughtful suppliers and space for genuine connection. We want Peak to contribute to the community it depends on — not simply pass through it.
PLANET
We reduce before we compensate: encouraging rail and shared journeys, avoiding unnecessary single-use items, choosing seasonal local food, providing reusable essentials, caring for equipment so it lasts and treating the coast as a living place rather than a backdrop.
We will keep measuring, questioning and improving rather than claiming perfection.

Peak is a proud member of 1% for the Planet, putting a formal commitment behind something that has been part of our values from the beginning: giving back to the natural world that makes everything we do possible.
For a small business, commitments like this matter. Every pound has somewhere it could be spent, so choosing to dedicate part of what we create to environmental causes is a deliberate decision about the kind of business we want Peak to be.
It is not an add-on or a marketing exercise. Protecting the places we surf, explore and build our experiences around sits at the core of who we are and how we want Peak to grow.
PROFIT
A healthy business should create enough value to pay people properly, buy responsibly and reinvest in better environmental choices. For Peak, people, planet and profit are not competing priorities; each has to support the other two.
Growth should give us greater capacity to do good, not simply a larger footprint.
TRAVEL LIGHTER
Your journey will usually be the largest part of the retreat’s footprint. Choose rail, share a transfer or car where you can, and stay longer rather than travelling more often.
